SkyKeys (iPhone) and SkyKeys Console (Mac) don't collect, store or share any personal data.
What stays on your devices. Your profiles, pages and settings are saved on your Mac. The iPhone app saves its own settings (such as its last layout and preferred connection) on the iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
How the apps talk. SkyKeys and SkyKeys Console talk only to each other, directly: over a USB cable, over your local Wi-Fi network, or over Bluetooth. When you connect an iPhone (both screens confirm a code), the two make a pairing key that stays in each device's keychain; after that, everything they send each other is encrypted, so nobody else on the network can read it or pretend to be either of them. The iPhone asks for Bluetooth and Local Network permission for this and uses it for nothing else.
Live Activities and Shortcuts. SkyKeys can show your Mac's timer and stopwatch on the iPhone's Lock Screen, and Shortcuts or Siri can ask your Mac to play or pause, start a timer and a few other things. Both work only between your iPhone and your Mac, like the keys do.
No accounts, analytics, ads or tracking. There is no sign-in, no analytics or crash-reporting service, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
Optional internet use on the Mac. A Ping key pings the host it's set to (the ready-made Info page has one for 1.1.1.1); Spotify album art is loaded from Spotify's image server. Screensaver pictures are only the ones you add yourself. These requests come from your Mac, only while those keys are on screen, and carry no information about you beyond what any web request does.
Updates. SkyKeys Console asks this website, projectskykeys.com, once a day (and when you choose Check for Updates on the Mac or on a phone) whether a newer version exists. It's an ordinary web request: nothing about you or your devices is sent. It tells your iPhones when their app has a newer version; the iPhone apps themselves never go on the internet.
This website has no cookies, analytics or trackers. Its host keeps the usual server logs (such as IP addresses) for operating it.
